Traditional Japanese style Sake Server
Decorated using a technique called Hidasuki. This traditional Japanese technique, famous in the Bizen area, uses rice straw to create unique burn marks on the pots. A special clay body is used in a unique firing atmosphere to achieve these marks, which become part of the body and do not wash off over time.
These forms are usually used for serving sake, but could also be used to serve milk or dressing.
