Urushi Lacquered Chestnut Wood Bowl for Rice or Soup / 根来塗筒椀

The popular Sawakuri range is made from rare Japanese mountain chestnut, which grows in the cold winds.

Chestnut wood has a beautiful grain and develops a tasteful texture over time. Despite its character, it is also very light and water resistant. The vermilion colour of Negoro, reminiscent of the warm sun or the first sunrise of the new year, gives a gorgeous colour to the dining table.

It can be enjoyed in a variety of ways, such as with soup and rice.
